This country’s national futsal team will be in action on April 26th and 27th in two friendly internationals, against Costa Rica in the Scotiabank Arena in Alajuela, Costa Rica. The match will serve as part of the preparations ahead of the CONCACAF Futsal Championship in Guatemala in May.
This is good news for T&T head coach, American, Constantine Konstin, who says “these are welcomed training games for us because it is important that we have a chance to prepare against quality opposition”.
Costa Rica’s Futsal team assistant coach, Alex Ramos says the possibility of having important games is valuable for any national selection, “especially since it has been a typical year with a shortage of class A games to refine the idea, style and identity as such.”
Due to the withdrawal of three member associations including Guadeloupe and Martinique, the CONCACAF is required to modify Groups A and C so every group has a minimum of 3 teams. According to the CONCACAF Futsal Rankings, the governing body for this region has decided to move the lowest ranked team, Dominican Republic, to position 3 in Group A alongside T&T and Guatemala.
