National shooters Samantha Wallace and Kalifa McColllin both tasted defeat on Saturday when the Suncorp Netball League continued in Australia. Wallace’s New South Wales Swifts, who won their opening game in the first round, faced a much tougher West Coast Fever with towering Jamaican shooter Jhanelle Fowler. Individually, Wallace had another standout performance, as she shot 32 from 34 and 1 from 3 super shots for a total 34 goals in the 63-55 loss. For Fever, Jhanelle Fowler scored 56 goals.
It was also a difficult outing for Trinidad and Tobago’s other international netballer, in the Suncorp league, Kalifa McCollin. The national shooter, who did not start this game, scored 3 goals as her Collingwood Magpies lost 66-54 to GIants. The Magpies have now lost their 2 opening games in the 2021 Suncorp Netball season.
