Trinidad and Tobago quarter miler Deon Lendore produced a third place finish in the 400M Final 2 in the Duval County Challenge at the Hodges Stadium, Jacksonville, Florida, USA on Monday evening. The two time national champion crossed the line in 45.16 seconds to claim bronze, behind Americans Michael Cherry and Justin Robinson with times of 44.74 and 45.00 seconds respectively.
Another 400 quarter miler, Asa Guevara, placed 4th in the 400m Final 1, with a time of 46.53. He trailed Jamaican Javon Francis (45.84) and Americans Quintaveon Poole (45.87) and Myles Pringle (46.11).
Asa Guevara was also involved in the 200m event. The 25 year old, who was part of the World Relays Gold Winning team in 2019, stopped the clock in 20.82 seconds to claim 3rd in the 200m Final 2. He was behind Americans Andrew Hudson (20.38) and Jaron Flournoy (20.73).
Among the ladies, Sparkle McKnight was T&T’s lone representative at the meet. The 3-time national champion finished 5th in the 400mH Final 1 in a time of 56.82 seconds. That event was won by Daliah Muhammad in a time of 55.01 seconds. Cassandra Tate (56.34) and Deonca Bookman (56.38) completed the clean sweep for the USA.
