Trinidadian duo of fastbowler Shannon Gabriel and batsman Darren Bravo were both recalled to the West Indies test team for the second Betway Test vs South Africa. They come in for Alzarri Joseph and Nkrumah Bonner .
Nkrumah Bonner suffered a concussion when he was struck by a delivery from Anrich Nortje in the first innings of the first test, and was eventually replaced by Kieran Powell who opened in the second innings. Bonner has not yet recovered from the concussion and Daren Bravo have been given a test recall.
Shannon Gabriel comes in for Alzarri Joseph, who did not play in the first test, as the selectors opted to give Jayden Seales his debut. If Gabriel breaks into the team and Seales keeps his place, it will be the first time Trinidad and Tobago will have 2 fast bowlers playing in the same test, since cousins Ian Bishop and Mervyn Dillon played in the 1997 Test against India in Bridgetown.
