Samantha Wallace returned to her high scoring ways, and the New South Wales Swifts return to winning. The Swifts beat the Queensland Firebirds 64-52 at the Ken Rosewall Arena in Australia on Saturday. Wallace was her usual self, hitting 49 out of 52 shots, and 2 super shots from 5 attempts.

Swifts led 15-11 at the end of the first quarter and 30-25 at half time. Helen Housby contributed 11 goals for the winners, while Jamaican Romelda Aiken led Firebirds with 40 goals.

Swifts go to the top of the table, as this round of matches (8th Round) will be completed over 2 weekends. On Sunday, fourth placed Giants, can return to the top and replace Swifts as the table leaders when they face 7th placed Thunderbirds.

Next week Saturday, Kalifa Mc Collin’s Magpies will face the Lightning and 22 hours later, the unbeaten Fever play bottom placed Vixens.
