“Look at what he’s done”

Assistant coach of the National Under 17 Male Basketball team Kemrick Julien, is supporting head coach Kern George to do well in the hot seat. Some coaches in the local basketball fraternity are questioning the NBFTT’s decision to give the relatively young coach the job ahead of more experienced coaches.

Referring to ‘KG’s success with East Zone Champions (In their debut season) Stories of Success, Julien stated the past 3 competitions they have played in, SOS won 2 and were runners up in 1. Julien stated: “Look at what he’s done with young talent in the leagues in Trinidad and Tobago”. SOS had won the East Zone, and the JCW leagues and then lost to Caledonia Clippers in the National Championship Finals. The assistant coach added that George “has been developing young ones, so if the issue of him being a young coach” he does not understand since when age has become a limit.
