T&T MEN’S 3X3 BASKETBALL TEAM QUALIFIES FOR 2022 COMMONWEALTH GAMES

When it rains, it pours. As the Trinidad and Tobago Men’s 3×3 team is set to head off to Miami, confirmation was received by the NBFTT that the team has qualified to take part in the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England next summer.

Trinidad and Tobago are currently ranked 60th in the World and 10th in the Americas Zone.

In addition to the Senior Men’s team, the T&T Under 18 team also qualified for the first-ever Under 18 3X3 World Cup to be held in Hungary in August 2022. The Under 18 team is currently ranked 21 in the world and 4 in the Americas Zone. Speaking about the achievements, President of the National Basketball Federation of Trinidad and Tobago, Claire Mitchell said “Join me in congratulating Arnold (Thomas, National 3×3 Coordinator), his team, the young men and their parents on this Milestone Accomplishment in the history of Basketball. Congratulations once again to the 3×3 Technical Team for their hard work. TTO is on its way to the Commonwealth Games 2022”.

Trinidad and Tobago 3×3 basketballers will also line up at the Pan Am Junior Championships that will start later this month.
