TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO 3X3 INTO THE 1/4 FINALS AFTER WIN AND LOSS ON FRIDAY AT PAN AM JUNIOR GAMES

The quartet of Akheem and Akheel Boyd, Mikhail Phillips and Jael Lewis, advanced to the quarter finals of the 3×3 basketball tournament at the Pan Am Junior Games, after a win and a loss on Friday.

T&T beat ElSalvador 22-13 in Pool B action, before falling to the Dominican Republic 21-8.

Against El Salvador, the ‘Boyd Twins’ combined for 20 of the 22 points as Akheem or ‘Smally’ scored 12, while Akheem of ‘Fatto’ scored 8.

In the 21-8 loss to the Dominican Republic, Akheem scored 5 points, while Akheel scored 3, as T&T finish second Pool C with 2 wins and a loss, while El Salvador lost out with the 3rd spot.

Team Red White and Black will now face Chile in the quarterfinals.
