ROYALS ARE 6 FROM 6, AS TKR LOSE AGAIN IN CARIBBEAN PREMIER LEAGUE

Kyle Mayers scored 79 to lead the Barbados Royals to win number 6, from their sixth match last evening, at the Queens Park Oval. The result also meant that the Trinbago Knight Riders lost their 3rd match of the Hero Caribbean Premier League.

POORAN HIT 2 FOURS AND 2 SIXES IN TKR’S LOSS TO BARBADOS ROYALS

The Trinbago Knight Riders were sent in to bat, and were 25 for 2 when Rahkeem Cornwall got the wickets of Tion Webster for 11 and Colin Munro for 1.

Captain Nicholas Pooran played a well constructed innings of 52 and Sunil Narine got 30, as the Trinbago Knight Riders scored 132 all out in 20 overs.

Mujeeb ur Rahman took 3 for 17, while Cornwall, Jason Holder and Obed Mc Coy each took 2 wickets.

In reply, Rahkeem Cornwall was too anxious to get on with it and should have made a duck, but Andre Russell dropped a sitter.  Cornwall did not take advantage of the drop as he made only1.

KYLE MAYER’S ACTION PACKED 79 LED THE ROYALS TO 8 WICKET OVER TKR TO REMAIN UNBEATEN

Mayers went ahead and hit 5 sixes and 10 fours as he made 79, when he went to Dupavillon.

Corbin Bosch made 33 not out as the Royals win the match easy, getting to 133 for 2 from 16 overs.

With the win, the Royals stretch their lead at the top of the table , while the TKR continue to slide.
