BIG BASKETBALL LEAGUE TO START ON FRIDAY

The Big Basketball League will jump off this Friday in Pleasantville with home team Quarters facing off against the new team on the block, Morvant Oilbirds. The Big Basketball League is expected to be Basketball’s Biggest Lime as the country’s brightest stars are expected to shine in the next two months. New upcoming stars like Akheel and Akheem Boyd, alongside veterans Miguel Williams and Kurt ‘Koto’ Christians will bring the Pleasantville, Maloney and St Paul Street indoor facilities back to life.

An exciting feature of the BBL this year will be the All Star Weekend in January, where the best players will compete in different categories on day one, followed by the celebrity all-star game. Day two will be the marquee event as East play West for the All Star glory. The fans will be very much part of the league as they can have a say in who plays in the all-star game and who will be named the season’s MVP.

The teams will be playing for the KK-Cornbread trophy, in honour of Patrick ‘KK’ Joseph and Derek ‘Cornbread’ James, two of this country’s living legends in basketball.

The league can be followed on wavetvtt.com where highlights, game reports and fixtures can be accessed. However, only this weekend’s fixtures are available.
